Toyota Kirloskar Motors has officially launched the Toyota Rumion in the Indian market today as their most cost-effective 7-seater car. Essentially, this car is based on the popular MPV Maruti Ertiga, with some cosmetic changes made by Toyota. The car is available in a total of 3 variants and 6 trims, including a CNG option. The price of Toyota Rumion ranges from 10.29 lakh rupees to 11.24 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).
Toyota Rumion is the most affordable 7-seater in the company’s portfolio and is quite beneficial for large families. Official bookings for the car have started, and customers can book with a token amount of 11,000 rupees. The CNG variant starts at a price of 11.24 lakh rupees, and the company claims the car offers a mileage of up to 26 km/kg.
Toyota states that the all-new Toyota Rumion has been designed to meet the increasing needs of families seeking comfort, feature-loaded interiors, and performance. Thanks to its spacious cabin and advanced features, the car will provide customers with a smooth driving experience. The company has equipped the car with a petrol engine, Neo Drive technology (Integrated Starter Generator – ISG), and E-CNG technology.
Engine and Performance:
The Toyota Rumion features a 1.5-liter capacity K-series engine, similar to the Ertiga and will also be available with a CNG option. In petrol mode, the car generates a power output of 75.8 kW and a torque of 136.8 Nm. In CNG mode, the engine produces 64.6 kW power and 121.5 Nm torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
Impressive Mileage:
The company claims that the new Neo Drive technology and E-CNG technology enhance the car’s mileage. The petrol version offers 20.51 km per liter, and the CNG variant gives up to 26.11 km per kg. The car will be available with both petrol (Neo Drive) and CNG fuel options.
Loaded with Features:
The Toyota Rumion boasts features like a 17.78 cm Smart Playcast touchscreen audio system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Toyota i-connect with 55+ features, remote climate control, lock/unlock, and smartwatch compatibility.
Connectivity Features:
There’s a feature to monitor the vehicle’s health and an alert service connect for any malfunctions. Other features include auto collision notification, tow alert, find my car, 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and cruise control.
Safety Measures:
This car is built on Maruti Suzuki’s renowned Heartect platform. It offers dual front and front seat side airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), engine immobilizer, seatbelt reminder, high-speed alert system, ESP, hill hold assist, force limiters with front seatbelt pretensioners.
